Alex Van Halen’s Signature Snare Drums From Ludwig

One of my favourite drummers from one of my all time favourite bands; Van Halen. Alex’s sound was always that signature Ludwig Supraphonic “Boxy” snare. Always with the perfect “Crack” and tone and always on point.

Alex was not one to just keep-the-beat kind of percussionist, he brought more than just the beat. Utilizing pretty much every sized tom with the big Bonham bass drum sound Alex is a drummer’s drummer. With excellent fills and cymbal stick work he he added fuel to the Van Halen sound and to me could never be replaced.
